| STEP 1)Scroll down to the most recent version (ActiveTcl8.4.1 in this case) and click on link for download |
| STEP 2)Click on the Active Tcl Binaries |
| STEP3) Click on the Downloads link |
| STEP4) You can safely ignore this by hitting Next |
| STEP5) Select the MSI link under Windows in the 8.4.1.0 section and the download process will begin. |
| STEP1) Click the Setup button to begin the installation |
| STEP2) The installer will begin to uncompress some files it needs |
| STEP3) There are lots of tools in this package. Just hit Next to accept the list. |
| STEP4) Go ahead and accept the licence |
| STEP5) Just take the default which is current user |
| STEP6) Once again just accept the default location for demos |
| STEP7) The full installation will begin now. Take note of these directories. You'll be wanting to create some shortcuts into at least the C:/Tcl one. |
| STEP8) This will take a few minutes as all the files are safely stored away. The tclsh.exe and wish.exe are 2 files you will be wanting to create shortcuts for this course. |
| STEP9) Installation is complete. Just hit Finish to exit the installer. |
NOTE:
Tcl/Tk is a very active developer community.
They are constantly improving the toolset and issuing new releases.
If the "tcl8.4.1" is not the current version you are downloading NOT TO
WORRY. Just use the latest and greatest version.
